A dreamy, soft-focus portrait featuring vibrant orange and blue lighting flares over a person's face.

A roll-up poster for a promotional event held over Tet, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year. The goal is to attract potential partners for the PathCAN’s booth at the cultural festival in Toronto. The client's initial vision called for yellow apricot blossoms — the quintessential symbol of Tet — set against the blue of the company's brand identity.

APPROACH

The brand's colour scheme is blue and red, taken from the logo. The obvious route would have been to keep the blossoms yellow, or lean on the brand's red for festivity. However, the red and yellow options ended up fighting with the navy background. Shifting to a monochromatic blue palette,  with a lighter tint carrying the flowers, brought the whole composition into harmony.

That choice also served the company identity, which centers on a modern, corporate aesthetic, so sophistication mattered more than conventional festive colour. Rendering the blossoms in soft blue lets them subtly signal the occasion without pulling focus from the brand's main message and services.

EXECUTION

An iPhone mockup with a notification pop-up sits within the poster, showing PathCAN’s service in action and providing potential partners a concrete view of what the platform offers. Google Sans typeface fits seamlessly into the modern, corporate style in harmony, working in unity with the apricot blossom motifs woven throughout the background.
